Categories Random Gift Ideas April 10, 2014 22:43 Updated Follow It would be nice if we could have the auctions separated in categories. Cheers Comments 20 comments Sort by Date Votes Nitesh Singh August 08, 2013 10:16 Ok. So how do you want it implemented? Here is my thought on implementation: Admin Dashboard New tab for admin to add different categories: Dashboard -> Ultimate Auction Pro -> Manage Category This form will have some default categories & admin can add sub-categories if they want. Go to "Add Auction" form and add your auction to specific category. FRONT END Feed Page - It will have a drop-down at the top which contains all categories. By default is set to "All". When some-one selects a category then only those auctions are loaded for "New listing", "Most Active" & "Ending Soon". Any suggestions? Cheers, Nitesh 0 Permalink Phil September 17, 2013 21:07 This would be perfect Nitesh. I love your plugin, we should work together to make this perfect for everyone. I have a lot of ideas to perfect this. 0 Permalink Nitesh Singh September 18, 2013 07:15 Hi Phil, Great to know there are more seekers for "Categories" feature. What is the status of the category option? I don't see on it on your demo site (http://demo.auctionplugin.net/wp-admin/admin.php?page=manage-users). Thanks, Tim 0 Permalink Nitesh Singh October 13, 2013 17:16 Hi Tim, Firstly, apologies for delayed response. Categories option has been planned but this month my priority is to deliver Front End panel for Users to add/manage auction. This feature is taking time after which I'll be working on "Categories" feature. Hope that helps. 0 Permalink Tim Holmgren November 02, 2013 17:07 Any update here? Is the Front End panel ready? 0 Permalink Nitesh Singh November 04, 2013 07:37 Hi Tim, Thanks for follow up. Front panel will be ready in 3 weeks time. I've ran into some formatting/shortcode issues which took more time than expected. Hope to ramp it up as soon as I can. Cheers, Nitesh 0 Permalink evelyn wright November 11, 2013 23:34 Ok, so there is no way for customers/users to upload or sell their products, right? 0 Permalink Tim Holmgren November 21, 2013 14:56 Hi Nitesh, any update here? 0 Permalink Piers Chipperfield November 25, 2013 22:46 Hi Nitesh, Very interested in the plugin. I also need categories for it to be any use to me. Hopefully this feature is nearly ready. Thanks, Piers. 0 Permalink Nitesh Singh November 26, 2013 01:08 Hi Tim, Piers Here is how I'm implementing it, let me know if its good to you and feel free to add your views: 1. Plugin will have a new tab called "Manage Categories" 2. Inside this tab, you'll get an option to add your own categories/sub-categories + you'll also have a list of default categories (with sub-categories). What-ever you add or select from list will form "Categories that you want" for your site. 3. While adding auction from "Add Auction", you'll have a "Select Category" drop down to choose specific category for the auction. 4. On Feed page, I'll add a "Categories dropdown" based on which feed page will show auctions. This feature will be delivered with front-end feature and it should be available in 3 weeks. When we hover over the select categories the drop down of the categories are jumbled together. Everything was fine until we started adding the categories We sent you a couple of messages 3 days ago and gave you the FTP information that you requested and never got a response. Please Advise, Carla 0 Permalink Carla M Harris123 March 12, 2014 02:09 Hello Nitesh, Thank you for getting back to us. We have just looked at our page. Thank You so very much for all of your hard work and fixing our categories. This is very much appreciated. It looks GREAT!!! Keep up the great work!!! Carla 0 Permalink Van RH April 04, 2014 03:14 Hi, Is it possible to have the different auction pages list a specific category of items vs list all, [wdm_auction_listing]? Any variations of the short code to filter listing? I would like to create an auction site that is based on Buddypress and membership. Users will belong to a group, say A, B and C. They would be on the same domain but be separated with access restriction based on category or urls. So users in group A can only access http://www.domain.com/level/A, and can not access auctions or content from http://www.domain.com/level/B. I would like have have an auction page for each group. Each group can only see their auctions. I would restrict access based on URLs. I think between URLs and your categories, I can achieve this. Thoughts? 1 Permalink Jarishcastaneda April 10, 2014 22:43 Hi Nitesh, Is there a way on how to select multiple categories for the auction? I don't need a sub-category. E.g. I would like to post the auction in Everything Else, Make an Offer and etc. Thanks. 0 Permalink Please sign in to leave a comment.
